Report: Detroit Lions traded ‘damaged’ Quandre Diggs to Seattle Seahawks

About a week and a half ago, the Detroit Lions caught everyone off guard when they traded safety Quandre Diggs to the Seattle Seahawks.

As much as trading Diggs surprised most fans, it was the fifth-round draft pick the Lions got in return which really rubbed many the wrong way.

After all, the Lions were giving up their starting safety, who also happened to be one of their team captains for what is likely to amount to a special teams player at best.

According to a report from ESPN, Diggs will likely miss his second-straight week as Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Diggs had blood drained from his hamstring and the injury is worse than they believed it was.

From ESPN:

“It’ll likely be another week before safety Qaundre Diggs makes his Seahawks debut. Pete Carroll said Diggs had blood drained from his hamstring for relief and that his injury is worse than what the Seahawks believed when they acquired him: “It was because he played in the game that week. You could tell, knowing how he plays, you could tell that he was taking care of himself a little bit. We just figured let’s get him back and not just kind of limp his way through the first couple weeks with us.”

Dave Birkett from the Detroit Free Press says the Lions did notify the Seahawks of Diggs hamstring injury but this latest report does not sound good.

If Diggs comes back from this injury, we fully expect him to make the Lions look bad for trading him.

Time will tell.
