According to a report from Adam Schefter, the Detroit Lions had interest in signing quarterback Josh Johnson, but the XFL blocked them.

Johnson, who was the backup for the Lions prior to the signing of Jeff Driskel, is currently a quarterback for the Los Angeles Wildcats of the XFL.
