According to reports, Detroit Red Wings‘ forward Anthony Mantha has been suspended for Thursday’s IIHF World Championship quarterfinal game vs. Switzerland following a check to the head in Canada’s win over the United States on Tuesday.

Mantha made contact with the head of USA forward Colin White during the third period of Tuesday’s game. At the time, he received a two-minute penalty along with a 10-minute misconduct.
So far in the World Championship, Mantha has been brilliant for Canada, scoring 7 goals and dishing out 5 assists in seven games.
