If you are sick and tired of the Lions, you may soon have another team to root for as Detroit is reportedly in the running to land an XFL team.
According to Domain Name Wire, on Thursday, the XFL recently registered a bunch of domain names for potential cities and Detroit is on the list.
From Domain Name Wire:
The league will hold a press conference on December 5 to unveil first-year cities. Yesterday the league registered a bunch of domain names for possible cities. The domains take the format of CityXFL.com, XFLCity.com and XFLCityAbbreviation.com.
For example, it registered AtlantaXFL.com, XFLAtlanta.com, and XFLAtl.com. Here are the cities that associated names were registered for:
While the league is unlikely to launch that many cities at first (the plan is eight cities), it is likely that the planned cities are on the list.
The XFL (Part 2) is expected to kick off in 2020.
Nation, would you like to see an XFL team come to the Motor City?
REPORT: Detroit Tigers zeroing in on free agent shortstop
There is little question about it, 2019 will likely be another rough year for the Detroit Tigers. In fact, do not be surprised if their final record ends up worse than it was this past season when they finished 64-98 in the American League Central.
General manager Al Avila has made it clear that the team is focused on rebuilding and blowing big money in free agency is not something that will not be happening anytime soon.
But that does not mean the team will not be active in free agency as they will look to add a few players here and there.
One position the Tigers will focus on adding in free agency is a shortstop as Jose Iglesias is moving on.
