Report: Detroit Tigers interested in Mark Kotsay to become their next manager

One thing is for sure, the Detroit Tigers sure do seem to be keeping their options open when it comes to hiring a new manager.

They have reportedly shown interest in former Tigers’ players, current coaches, and even a couple of cheaters (one which I pray the Tigers hire).

Now, according to a report from Peter Gammons, the Tigers are interested in Mark Kotsay.

Kotsay, who spent 17 years in Major League Baseball as a player, has since spent time as hitting coach for the San Diego Padres (2015) and as quality control coach for the Oakland Athletics (present position).

As Gammons notes, Kotsay’s front office experience is an added benefit that not many other candidates have and it could give him an advantage.

Nation, would you like to see Mark Kotsay as the Tigers’ next manager?
