On Friday, the Detroit Tigers announced that RHP Spencer Turnbull had been placed on the 10-day IL with shoulder fatigue.
Turnbull is just the latest Tigers' starting pitcher to head to the IL as four others have already been shut down for part of the season.

According to Chris McCosky of the Detroit News, Tigers' manager Ron Gardenhire would not say who, but a pitcher will be called up from Toledo to start on Saturday.
McCosky also added that “another pitcher or two” will be called up to work the double-header against the White Sox on Wednesday and that one of the Tigers' top pitching prospects, Beau Burrows, could get the call.
Gardenhire didn't say who, but somebody is coming up from Toledo tomorrow to start. There will be another pitcher or two called up to work the double-header in Chicago Wednesday. Funkhouser-Burrows are both possibilities.

So far in eight starts in the minor leagues this season, Burrows is 1-2 with a 3.35 ERA while allowing opposing batters to a .199 average.
According to the MLB Pipeline rankings, Burrows is currently the No. 4 rated pitcher in the Tigers' organization.
