Report: Detroit Tigers would not sign Yasiel Puig ‘for FREE’

Believe it or not, it's September 2nd, and the Detroit Tigers are just 0.5 games out of a wild card playoff spot.

The MLB trade deadline has passed and other than trading Cameron Maybin for a Minor League infielder, the Tigers did not make a move.

Today on 97.1 The Ticket, there was talk about how the Tigers need to sign free agent OF Yasiel Puig to bolster their hitting.

Well, according to Tony Paul of The Detroit News, the Tigers did their research during the offseason and he was told they would not even sign Puig “for Free.”

Nation, your thoughts? Should the Tigers reconsider now that JaCoby Jones is out for the season?
