REPORT: Former Detroit Tigers closer Shane Greene demoted

According to a report from David O’Brien of The Athletic, Atlanta Braves pitcher Shane Greene has been demoted from closing games “at least for a while.”

Greene, who was traded to the Braves from the Detroit Tigers at the deadline, has struggled since heading south. In fact, in four games with Atlanta, Greene is 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA in 3.1 innings of work.

Prior to being traded, Greene, who was an A.L. All-Star this season, had 22 saves while posting a 1.18 ERA in 38 games with the Tigers.
