Jennings has been out of action since this past January after tearing his Achilles tendon against the Milwaukee Bucks.
News of Jennings’ NBA return comes shortly after the rumor that he’ll be making a rehabilitation appearance for the Grand Rapids Drive this weekend, the Pistons’ D-League affiliate.
After averaging 15.4 points and 6.6 assists last season, the Pistons will be expecting Jennings to slowly work himself back into the rotation as his feel for the game, and his conditioning, slowly rebuild themselves upon his return.
With Reggie Jackson taking over starting point guard duties, the Pistons hope Jennings will be able to provide a much-needed boost to a bench unit currently averaging an NBA-worst 23.0 points per game.
