According to Detroit Red Wings beat writer Ansar Khan of MLive, the team is expected to bring back maligned general manager Ken Holland for next season – “with or without a contract”.

Holland’s contract expires at the end of this season that will see the Red Wings miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season, the first time they’ve missed in back to back seasons in over three decades.
Additionally, head coach Jeff Blashill is expected back for his fourth season behind the bench. The team is currently mired in a horrific slump, having won just one of their past 14 games.
Holland currently is the longest tenured NHL general manager along with Nashville’s David Poile. Khan indicated that some clarity on this situation is expected at or around the time of the regular season finale on April 7 and the subsequent locker room clean out day.
