REPORT: Ken Holland is leaving the Detroit Red Wings

The Oilers reportedly offered him more than he could refuse

According to reports, Ken Holland will inform the Ilitch family and the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday that he is leaving to become the Edmonton Oilers next GM. Reports surfaced this weekend about the Oilers offering Holland a 5-year, $25 million deal and it sounds like that was enough to pry him away from the Red Wings.

Holland had just been promoted to senior vice president of the Red Wings as Steve Yzerman took over the GM duties.
