Michigan football has reportedly found its next offensive coordinator after a week of speculation following the firing of Kirk Campbell. Head coach Sherrone Moore moved quickly to fill the position, and according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the Wolverines have decided to hire Chip Lindsey from North Carolina.
A Veteran with a Wealth of Experience
Lindsey comes to Michigan with a vast array of experience at both the collegiate and professional levels. He has worked as an offensive coordinator at several programs, including most recently at North Carolina. Over the course of his career, Lindsey has developed a reputation as a strong offensive mind, with a history of coaching quarterbacks and building high-powered offenses. His coaching journey began in high school football in Alabama, before moving on to college roles as the QB coach at Troy, an offensive analyst at Auburn, and the offensive coordinator and QB coach at Southern Miss, Arizona State, Auburn, UCF, and most recently, North Carolina.
A Proven Track Record
Throughout his career, Lindsey has built offenses that are known for being dynamic and efficient. He has had the opportunity to work with multiple talented quarterbacks, and his offenses have consistently been competitive in the programs he’s led. His ability to adapt and improve offensive units has made him a highly regarded coach in the college football landscape.
Michigan's Strategic Hire
While Lindsey may not have been one of the names that immediately came up when speculation began, his resume speaks for itself. Moore and Michigan's leadership appear confident that Lindsey will be able to build on the Wolverines’ success and continue developing their offensive schemes. The hire comes at a crucial time for the program as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season and improve their offensive output in 2025.
Lindsey’s arrival in Ann Arbor signals a new chapter for Michigan football’s offense, with high hopes for what he can bring to the table. Fans are eager to see how he will mold the Wolverines’ offense as they work toward their goals for the upcoming season.
