According to reports, the University of Michigan football program has been linked to a college basketball corruption trial.
The reports say that Louis Martin Blazer, who is a former Pittsburgh-based financial adviser, testified on Tuesday that he paid college football players (including players from Michigan) between $100 and $3,000 per month with the hopes he would be their financial planner when they turned pro.

Other colleges named include Pittsburgh, Penn State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Alabama, and North Carolina.

Blazer did not provide any information relating to whether or not other schools were made aware of his alleged payments.Â
Blazer became a government witness after pleading guilty to several federal charges, including securities fraud. According to CBS, he faces up to 67 years in prison if he’s caught lying under oath during this trial.Â
