REPORT: Michigan gives up 2019-2020 home Big Ten game

According to a report from NJ Advance Media, the Michigan basketball team is giving up one of their home Big Ten games so they can play Rutgers at Madison Square Garden.

From NJ Advance Media:

The Rutgers men’s basketball and wrestling programs are expected to compete against Michigan in a two-sport doubleheader at Madison Square Garden this coming winter, four individuals with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media.

The individuals were granted anonymity since the conference has not yet made an announcement or released its men’s basketball and wrestling schedules. The date is not yet finalized, but the Big Ten has held “Super Saturday” men’s basketball and men’s hockey doubleheaders at MSG on the last Saturday in January each of the last four years. The wrestling dual meet will replace the hockey game since the Big Ten’s 2019-20 schedule in that sport is already out with no games listed as being played in New York.

Rutgers is slated to wrestle at Michigan this coming season, so the MSG match will come in lieu of a home date for the Wolverines. The basketball game is also expected to technically be a Michigan home game.

Nation, what do you think about Michigan giving up a home conference game for the opportunity to play at MSG?
