According to a report from The Michigan Insider, Michigan assistant coach Saddi Washington has reached out to New Mexico guard Anthony Mathis about transferring to the Wolverines.

On Monday, Mathis hopped Twitter to announce he has decided to put his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal and to use his final year of eligibility as a grad transfer.
“Lobo nation, coaches, teammates. I am truly thankful for everything you guys have done for me as a player but even more as a person.I’ve learned so much during my time in Albuquerque and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. But I have decided to put my name in the transfer portal and use my last year of eligibility as a grad transfer. You guys will always have a special place in my heart and I cannot thank you guys enough.”

Mathis, who is 6-3, 175 pounds, led the Lobos in scoring this past season with 14.4 points per game and was named Third-Team All-Mountain West.
Over his past two seasons, the sharpshooter connected on 44% of his three-point attempts while shooting 87% from the free throw line during that time.
If the Wolverines are successful in bringing in him in, Mathis would really help to fill the void left by Jordan Poole leaving early for the NBA.
