In about a half-hour, Michigan will take the field against Indiana as they look to bounce back from an embarrassing loss to Michigan State.
But the Wolverines will reportedly be at a disadvantage against the Hoosiers as starting offensive tackles Jalen Mayfield and Ryan Hayes will both miss Saturday’s game due to injury.
From Wolverines Wire:
While left guard Chuck Filiaga was back in uniform, Michigan’s two tackles on offense — Mayfield and Hayes — did not travel due to their respective injuries and are out for Saturday, per a team spokesperson. Upon potential replacements are Karsen Barnhart and Zak Zinter.
According to Mayfield’s father, he is “day to day” with a high ankle sprain and he could be back either next week vs. Wisconsin or the following week vs. Rutgers.
Jalen Mayfield has a high ankle sprain and is not playing against Indiana today. He is "day to day," according to his father, Brian. Could be back next week against Wisconsin or against Rutgers.
