Report: Red Wings’ Mike Green to miss remainder of season

If the Red Wings are indeed on board with the “Lose for Hughes” strategy, today’s news will help.

Defenseman Mike Green, who has been fighting a virus on and off for parts of the season, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

In the 43 games he has played in this season, Green has registered five goals and 21 assists.

Green’s absence will likely make way for a younger defenseman to play regularly for the Red Wings, such as Filip Hronek, and potentially another prospect from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
