There are not many better things in sports than March Madness. Each year (except for this year), 68 college basketball teams compete for a shot at the Final Four and eventually a National Championship.
So, what if the NFL did something similar by expanding their playoffs to 16-teams?
Well, according to a report from Chris Mortensen of ESPN, that is exactly what could happen if regular-season games are lost to the COVID-19 pandemic.
NFL competition committee expects to present a resolution to owners based on a contingency of having a 16-team playoff season (8 in each conference) if games are lost due to the pandemic, especially as bye weeks disappear, according to league sources. Committee met by zoom today.

If this were to happen, the bracket would feature 8 teams from each conference with the four division winners and four wild card teams making the cut.
Nation, would you like to see a March Madness-style bracket for the Super Bowl?
