Report: NFL investigating how Detroit Lions handled Matthew Stafford injury

On Sunday, Matthew Stafford‘s impressive consecutive games started streak was snapped when he was he was deactivated with a fractured back.

Prior to the game, Lions GM Bob Quinn said the decision to deactivate Stafford was made on Sunday morning but some Lions players, including LT Taylor Decker, said he found out on Saturday.

Now, according to reports, the NFL is looking into how the Stafford injury was handled by the Lions.

From ESPN:

“The NFL is looking into how the Lions handled the injury designation of quarterback Matthew Stafford, a league source tells ESPN. The investigation is standard when there are some questions about the report. On Sunday there was confusion about the timing of the decision of when Stafford wouldn't play. Some players said they were told Saturday and Matt Patricia/Bob Quinn said the decision was made Sunday.”

Nation, is this even a big deal?
