It may be March, but for NFL fans, the 2019 regular season cannot come soon enough.
According to Ian Rapoport, the first game of the 2019 season will feature the Chicago Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, September 5th. This is a change as the defending Super Bowl Champions usually play in the opener.
Instead, the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots will kick off their season on Sunday Night Football.
The opening game of the 2019 season will be #Packers at #Bears, per NFL Media Executive VP and COO Hans Schroeder. Meanwhile, the #Patriots will host the Sunday night opening game. A slight change for the Super Bowl champs.

The change has to do with the NFL’s 100th-anniversary celebration.
