We have assumed for a while now that it was just a matter of time before the news would break that Steve Yzerman would be returning to the Detroit Red Wings.
That news broke on Friday morning and Red Wings' fans are rejoicing.
But just a couple of weeks ago, a rumor surfaced that Yzerman was “interested” in going to the New York Rangers.
We laughed at the report around these parts and according to reports, Yzerman did not even grant the Rangers the chance to interview him.
I'm told he declined even to be interviewed for the job.
