Could the Detroit Lions actually convince Kevin Colbert to leave the Pittsburgh Steelers to come back to the Motor City to be their next general manager?
The chances of that happening seem very slim but that does not mean that there is not at least some level of interest between the two sides.
Last week, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press went on 97.1 The Ticket and he mentioned that there was some interest from both sides and now Jason La Canfora is reporting the Lions actually have a “deep” interest in Colbert and that they “continue to gather info and strategize on how to possibly lure him.”
Reported on the Lions deep interest in Steelers GM Kevin Colbert a few weeks ago. Remains very real. Most who know Colbert do not think he would leave Pittsburgh but the Lions continue to gather info and strategize on how to possibly lure him

Colbert, who has been with the Pittsburgh Steelers since the 2000 season, once worked with the Lions (1990-1999) as their Pro Scouting Director.
Now, if Colbert is actually interested in coming to Detroit, the Lions should do whatever it takes to make the hire.
That being said, this scenario still seems a bit far-fetched.
