Harbaugh has already secured the 2021 recruiting class for the Wolverines, and has been engaged with AD Warde Manuel regarding a potential extension.
With a salary of just over $8 million in 2020, Harbaugh was ranked fourth among college football head coaches in total payment.
Prior to this past season, Harbaugh had also led the Wolverines to five straight winning seasons, though detractors are quick to point out the winless streak against the rival Ohio State Buckeyes.
