Report suggests Steelers have not received request for Detroit Lions to speak to Kevin Colbert

Despite an earlier report via 97.1 The Ticket, it appears the brakes need to be pumped.

According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writer Gerry Dulac, the Lions haven’t received the Steelers’ blessing to speak with Kevin Colbert regarding their general manager vacancy.

WXYZ host Mike Stone soon tweeted out a mea culpa:

Colbert agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Steelers last February. Their season came to a close Sunday night with a Wild Card playoff loss to the Cleveland Browns.
