The Detroit Pistons have been without the services of 7th overall draft pick Killian Hayes since January thanks to an injury. And according to sources, that wait may be over.
Multiple sources report that Hayes will be returning to Detroit’s lineup tomorrow against the New York Knicks, and former teammate Derrick Rose:
Hayes had been previously cleared for basketball action last month. He had suffered a subluxation in his right hip against the Milwaukee Bucks on Jan. 4. and the team opted for rehab rather than surgery to correct the problem.
“We’re going to be conservative with him, to bring him back the right way, not rush him back and have the same thing happen all again,” head coach Dwane Casey explained last month. “Similar injury to (Hamidou Diallo). We want to make sure we’re careful with those, because those things, especially with the schedule that’s going on, are not conducive to healing properly with practice and games and travel. We want to make sure we give him as much time as possible.”
In the seven games he’s appeared in, Hayes has averaged 4.6 PPG and 3.6 APG.
