Will Matthew Stafford be the quarterback for the Detroit Lions when the 2021 season begins?
That is one of the biggest questions the Lions face this offseason as they decide on whether it is time to rebuild or if they want to build upon what they already have in place.
On Tuesday, Lions team president Rod Wood spoke to reporters and he may have given away their futures plans in regards to Stafford.
“We’re not as far away as it might appear, so I would think we could retool some things and be competitive,” Wood said.
As noted by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Wood’s comments could be a hint that the Lions plan to keep Stafford around.
Wood said ultimately the next coach and GM will make the ultimate decision on that. But if you're making a bet on Matthew Stafford's future, that might be a hint at what happens
