It sounds as though the details are still being hammered out, but Detroit Red Wings forward Andreas Athanasiou could very well soon become a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
According to multiple sources, Columbus is “close” to acquiring the speedy restricted free agent-to be.
So far this season, Athanasiou hasn't come close to repeating his career-high 30 goals of last season. He's scored just 10 goals and 14 assists in 46 games — along with an astounding NHL-worst minus-45 plus-minus rating.
The Red Wings have already dealt defenseman Mike Green to the Edmonton Oilers earlier today.
