When it comes to the Detroit Red Wings, tradition is a word which immediately comes to mind.
That's why it came as a bit of a surprise to me as I stumbled across a piece on Ice Athletics saying the Red Wings could be adding a regular third jersey for the 2019-2020 season.

As noted above, the Red Wings have never had a regular third jersey. That being said, they have donned special sweaters for the outdoor games they have played, including the 2009 Winter Classic sweater, which was pretty nice.
