The Detroit Red Wings have adding some grit to their lineup ahead of tonight’s matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks in the Windy City.
They’ve announced that they’ve recalled gritty right-wing forward Givani Smith from their taxi squad, and he’ll make his season debut tonight:

The Red Wings currently have four players on their COVID-19 protocol list, including Robby Fabbri, Sam Gagner, Jon Merrill, and Adam Erne.
Smith was selected by the Red Wings with the 46th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft and made his NHL debut last season. In 21 games, he scored twice with one assist while racking up nine PIM. Check out his first NHL fight last season against the Anaheim Ducks:
