On Saturday, Sheila Ford Hamp announced that she had fired both head coach Matt Patricia and general manager, Bob Quinn.
Though it was a decision that should have been made following the 2019 season (sooner if you ask me), Ford Hamp finally came to her senses and made the right move.
Following the news breaking, Sheila met with the media via a Zoom call that was not streamed live, reportedly because the Lions put a nix on that.
During the call, Ford Hamp talked about they she fired Quinn and Patricia but I found it odd that she did not have any direct message for the fans who have supported the Detroit Lions franchise for so long.
Well, on Sunday night, at 10:03 p.m. ET to be exact, the Lions released a statement from Sheila in which she finally addresses the fans.
“To our loyal fans, we know this has been a challenging year for everyone,” the statement began. “Not having our fans around to support our team has been difficult for all of us. Football this season has looked, and felt, different, but it doesn’t change the fact that we play for you. As I said in my opening press conference, I will do everything I can to put a winning team on the field for our fans and the City of Detroit.”

Though I do not believe Sheila Ford Hamp is off to the best start as owner of the Detroit Lions, I have no choice but to hope and pray that she makes great decisions moving forward.
