Detroit Lions owner Sheila Hamp delivered a clear and steady message to season-ticket holders following a disappointing 9–8 campaign that left the team out of the 2025 postseason: stay patient, stay confident, and understand that the organization is not hitting the panic button.
While Hamp did not address the media publicly, her letter to fans struck a tone of accountability mixed with long-term belief in the foundation that has been built.
“I want to start by thanking you for your commitment to our team and the support you show throughout the season. I am always blown away by the energy you create inside Ford Field and the advantage you give our team every time we run out of the tunnel,” Hamp wrote. “I also want to acknowledge that our results on the field this season were not what any of us envisioned and frankly, were not good enough. While we do not believe it is a time for drastic change, this is an opportunity for us to refocus, evolve, and move forward.”
Hamp emphasized that the Lions’ recent success — including a 15-win season just one year ago and 36 total victories over the last three seasons — was not a fluke, but also not a guarantee of future results.
“I am proud of the roster we have built and the 36 wins we have accumulated over the last three seasons,” Hamp continued. “That success doesn’t happen by accident, but it also does not guarantee future success. It is incumbent upon us to continue growing toward our ultimate goal of bringing a championship to all of you and the city of Detroit.”
Perhaps most telling was Hamp’s reassurance that alignment remains strong at the top of the organization.
“I can assure you that we are committed to looking at everything we do to ensure we are performing at the highest level. Through conversations with Rod, Brad and Dan, we are all aligned with this thinking and have already started meetings to address how we move forward. We are excited for what 2026 will bring and some of the new elements we will introduce for all of you, our most loyal fans. Thank you again for your commitment. Go Lions!”
The message from the top is clear: the Lions believe in their core, trust their leadership, and view 2025 not as a collapse — but as a setback that can fuel their next push.

Blah Blah Blah! People need to be fired! Patriots came back quickly! Ford’s need to find the right people quickly or fans should stop going to games!!!! GM, coaching, Goff all need to go. Anything less is just a waste of time!!!!! I think the Ford family should sell the team!!!!!!
I think the owner and Holme and DC are doing a great job look were they came from they have one bad year and everyone wants to bitch and starts wanting people fired what if your job was like that would you want everyone to strayed saying fire them sell the company they have one bad year lot of injuries and probably they will get back on track and all you guy biting will jump right back on the bandwagon oh go lions and when asked you will say oh no I never said aid that you have to have faith Evan when their down you have to stay with them and count on ten to get back up go lions go Cambells Warriors
