SHOTS FIRED! Michigan basketball player trolls Michigan State

This past Saturday, Michigan went into East Lansing and dominated the Michigan State Spartans in a game that was nowhere near as close as the 21-7  score indicated.

Following the game, Wolverines’ defensive end Chase Winovich was interviewed on the field and he used that time to take a shot at the Spartans by referring to them as “little brother.”

But Winovich is not the only Michigan athlete that is trying to bring the “little brother” moniker back when referring to Michigan State.

During Michigan Basketball’s Media day at Crisler Center, Wolverines’ sophomore guard Jordan Poole talked about the UM/MSU football game and he too could not resist pointing out that Michigan is the big brother in this rivalry.

From The Wolverine Lounge:

“Me and Isaiah (Livers) were on our way to the game when we saw (Devin) Bush kicking up the Spartan sign and stuff but we were extremely excited, and I am glad that we came out on top with the win,” said Michigan sophomore guard Jordan Poole

“It definitely shows that we’re big brother.” joked Poole. “The fact that we shut all their boys down. They’re alright, but we definitely got the upper hand right now for sure.” Poole finished by saying he absolutely believes the vitriol from this weekend will carry into the Spartans and Wolverines pair of games come February and March.

Dear Spartans: You wanted Michigan to take you seriously, now you have to deal with it

For the past decade, Michigan State has pretty much dominated Michigan when it comes to football, there is no arguing that.

Heading into Saturday, the Spartans had beaten the Wolverines in eight of the previous ten matchups and covered the point spread in all 10 of those games. To say the rivalry was one-sided would be an understatement.

But for the Spartans and their fans, it was never good enough.
