When it comes to the 2021 NFL Draft, there is quite a bit of speculation that the Detroit Lions may be able to select one of the top 2 offensive tackles in the class. Those offensive tackles are Penei Sewell and Rashawn Slater.
But what if the Lions took care of the OT position by bringing in former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher, who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs back in March?
Fisher, who played his high school and college ball in Michigan, is still rehabbing from an Achilles injury but he is expected to be back in time for the 2021 regular season.
If the Lions did sign Fisher to a team-friendly prove-it deal, and he is healthy, he could help out the team's offensive line immediately.
Personally, if I were the Lions, I would wait to see how the draft plays out before making a move on Fisher. But, if Sewell and Slater are both off the board, bringing the former No. 1 pick home would not be a bad plan at all if the price is right.
