On Thursday, news broke that Detroit Lions RB D’Andre Swift had suffered a brain injury and was in concussion protocol, making it unlikely that he will play in Sunday’s game vs. the Carolina Panthers.
Just moments ago, Lions head coach Matt Patricia spoke to the media and he said “it is difficult” to see Swift playing on Sunday due to the concussion protocol constraints.

But something seems fishy about Swift’s injury. He practiced on Wednesday, spoke with reporters after practice, meaning he was not in concussion protocol at that time, and then missed practice on Thursday.

Wait, what?
Why wouldn’t Patricia divulge whether or not Swift’s injury is football related?
Something is definitely fishy here.
That being said, to be fair, concussion symptoms often appear days after the fact so this very well could be the case and Patricia is just trying to be secretive!
It sounds like the Lions will have to roll with Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson against the Panthers.
