Though it cannot be made official until the new league year begins in March, Matthew Stafford has been traded to the Los Angeles Rams.
There are plenty of fans on social media saying that the Lions traded Stafford to the Rams because that is where he wanted to be traded.
But according to a source of Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions did not exactly give Stafford a say in where he was going to be traded. Instead, it just happened to work out that he was traded to his destination of choice.
Every offer the Lions received included a first-round pick, the source said, and suitors emerged from every corner of the league.
The Lions did not exactly give Stafford his choice of trade destinations. Rather, the source insisted, the best deal happened to be with the team he was most excited about joining.
Nation, who do you think won the trade?
