As we sit here on January 20, the Detroit Tigers catchers consist of Grayson Greiner (.194 batting average in 106 career games), Jake Rogers (.125 average in 35 career games), and Justin Garneau (.202 batting average in 140 career games).
Those options are not exactly exciting to look at if you are a fan of the Tigers.
Well, according to Jon Morosi, the Tigers are interested in adding former All-Star catcher Jason Castro to provide another left-handed bat in the lineup. Castro, who is 33, is not exactly the greatest hitting catcher of all time as he is only a .230 career hitter during his 10-year career.
Back in 2013, he was named to the National League All-Star team as he batted .276 with 18 home runs and 55 RBIs.
Casto spent two seasons with A.J. Hinch as his manager with the Houston Astros.
