The No. 24 Michigan State Spartans rolled into Maryland and walked out with a well-deserved 78-66 victory over the No. 9 Terrapins on Saturday night, improving their record to 20-9 and 12-5 in Big Ten play.
With four players recording double digits in points, the Spartans also led in rebounds by a 35-29 margin.
Following the contest, head coach Tom Izzo was sure to give a shoutout to the Maryland crowd.
“I’ve got to tell ya, [I’ve] played in a lot of great places, but not many better than it was out there tonight,” he said. “So to all your fans who were booing me, I’ve got to give you a little respect, because that was a hell of an atmosphere.”
You can bet there will be a rocking atmosphere at State College in Pennsylvania for Michigan State’s next matchup against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Tuesday.
