Due to the spread of COVID-19, the NCAA decided to call off its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments last month in a landmark decision made to help flatten the curve of the illness.
For the Michigan State Spartans, that halted what would have been a special run according to the latest bracket from ESPN. Bracketologist Joe Lunardi’s latest edition had the Spartans taking down Bradley, Virginia, and Illinois before advancing to the Final Four with a win over Louisville.
In the hypothetical matchup between the two, Michigan State emerged with an 87-84 win over Gonzaga.
