According to Detroit Tigers manager AJ Hinch, the club’s top prospect Spencer Torkelson will miss a few Spring Training games after he cut his index finger, requiring him to get stitches.

He won't play in the first few spring training games.

Torkelson, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, immediately became the Tigers No. 1 prospect the moment he was drafted.
In college, Torkelson played first base but Hinch has said that he will be playing third base during Spring Training.
In addition to announcing Torkelson’s injury, Hinch also announced that Tyler Alexander and Michael Fulmer will start the first two spring games. Those games are will be held on Sunday vs. the Phillies and Monday vs. the Yankees.
