Stan Van Gundy emerges as finalist for NBA head coaching job

The former bench boss of the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Miami Heat could soon have himself a new gig.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, former Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy will be meeting with officials from the New Orleans Pelicans regarding their vacant coaching position:

Van Gundy was let go by the Pistons in 2018 following four years in the Motor City, and has served as an analyst for ESPN and Turner/CBS Sports. He currently holds a 523-384 win/loss record as a head coach.

Dallas Cowboys still believe Dak Prescott is their future

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a horrific ankle injury during last night’s game, resulting in an outpouring of support from around the NFL.

However, for anyone thinking that Dallas could look to acquire outside talent while Prescott heals, Executive Vice President, CEO and Director of Player Personnel Stephen Jones has a message for you.

During an interview on 105.3 The Fan Monday morning, Jones reiterated that the Cowboys have no plans to replace him.

“Absolutely not, absolutely not,” he emphatically declared when asked if last night’s injury changed the team’s feelings about him. “He’s our future. He’s special. If anyone can overcome anything it will be Dak. It’s something our doctors feel like he’ll overcome, and he’ll come back better than ever.”

“To lose our leader, our captain, he’s our heart. (It) just really kills you deep down for him. … We’re still in shock,” Jones said. “Dak’s such a warrior. He’s been through a lot. He’s always overcome it and this is going to be no exception. … It’s a very difficult setback for him and for us. It’s something we feel great about him totally overcoming and he’ll come back ready to go next year.”

It certainly looks like that settles the debate on whether or not the Cowboys will look to make a trade to replace Prescott this year.
