Steve Thomas and Darcy Tucker fought a couple times in their careers. One of the better bouts was when Thomas played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Tucker for the Tampa Bay Lightning. After a scrum against the boards, the two start trading blows. Quick punches back and forth for about 10 seconds, a few good connections on either side, and then the officials separate them. Fights like this back in the day were about sending a message; a fist in the mouth generally got that message through pretty clearly.

November 27, 1960, Gordie Howe became the first ever player in NHL history to break 1000 points. He assisted on Howie Glover’s goal in a 2-0 Red Wings victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was Howe’s 938th career game.
