We all knew it was coming but on Wednesday, the Detroit Red Wings finally announced that Dylan Larkin is their next captain.
Following the announcement, Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman spoke to the media and while doing so, he admitted that he and Larkin broke COVID-19 protocol at the end of their meeting.
From Detroit Free Press:
“We kept our masks on but one rule we did break, and I’m going to confess to, we did shake hands at the end of the conversation. I don’t know about Dylan, but I immediately went to the hand sanitizer afterwards, so I hope that the protocol police will accept that.”
Ha! Great stuff here from Yzerman. Let’s hope the NHL police don’t fine he and Larkin for shaking hands!
