In April of last year, Detroit Red Wings fans lost their minds (in a good way) when Steve Yzerman announced he was coming home.

Yzerman was hired by the Red Wings to replace then general manager Ken Holland, who had worn out his welcome amongst many of the fans.
On Monday, Yzerman spoke at the Detroit Economic Club and he talked about his decision to return to the Red Wings.
“For me it, it was an easy decision to come back,” Yzerman said.

It has been a very difficult season for the Red Wings but fans remain optimistic that Yzerman will eventually build a Stanley Cup-winning team.
