On Tuesday, Detroit Red Wings‘ general manager Steve Yzerman spoke to the media, and not surprisingly, a question was asked about the status of the teams’ captaincy.
Yzerman said that the plan is still to name a captain this season, which has been the plan for some time now.
As noted by Helene St. James, the Red Wings have not had a captain since Henrik Zetterberg retired in September of 2018, and that Dylan Larkin is expected to get the nod.
