Stoney tells Dan Campbell about Jameson Williams’ ‘liked tweet’ about getting the ball more

Following the Detroit Lions‘ embarrassing loss to the Carolina Panthers on Christmas Eve, a game where Jameson Williams was targeted just once, the rookie liked a tweet about the Lions needing him to get the ball more. On Tuesday morning, Dan Campbell joined the Stoney and Jansen Show on 97.1 The Ticket, and Stoney (Mike Stone) told Campbell about Williams liking the tweet about the Lions needing to get him the ball more.

Stoney tells Dan Campbell about Jameson Williams’ ‘liked tweet’

When Stoney brought up the liked tweet by Williams, Campbell reacted as if he had not yet heard of it. After Stoney explained that Williams “agreed” with a tweet about him getting the ball more, Campbell jokingly responded by saying he would like to get the ball too.

Quotes via DSN’s own @DetroitLionsGM:

“He agreed that he would like to get the ball?” “I mean, I’d like the ball sometimes too but I can’t run around anymore like he can.”

“He’s been good, he comes out and practices, he puts in the work, and he’s a work in progress. He gets better in practice and sharper in the details. He was a little better this week than last week, and we’re gonna get him a couple plays, a couple more plays this week.”

“He’s coming. It takes work, we can’t just throw him out there and say, ‘alright, you’re taking 65 plays.’ There’s a trust that has to be built and he’s working to that, so it’s good.”

Nation, do you think Williams will get the ball more in the Lions’ final two games of the season, or will we have to wait until next year to really see what he can bring to the table?
