We are less than a week away from the 2020 NBA Draft (boy does that feel weird to type in October) and there has been plenty of speculation as to who the Detroit Pistons should select with the No. 7 overall pick in the first round.
But what if the Pistons decide to trade out of the No. 7 spot to land additional draft picks?
In a piece recently written by James Edwards III of The Athletic, he proposes the Pistons trade the No. 7 overall pick to the Boston Celtics for the No. 14, No. 26, and No. 30 picks in the opening round.
From The Athletic:
In this deal, the Celtics get the No. 7 pick and a chance to land Hayes or USC big man Onyeka Okongwu, both of whom would be proper fits for their roster. The Pistons stay in the lottery with the No. 14 pick and also grab the 26th and 30th picks to try and find gems.
Edwards then goes on to suggest some options that could be available if the trade were to land the Pistons with the No. 14, No. 26, and No. 30 picks. A few players he believes the Pistons could get a shot at include R.J. Hampton (New Zealand)Â at No. 14, and former Michigan State standouts Xavier Tillman and Cassius Winston at No. 26 and No. 30 respectively.
Nation, is this a deal you would make if it was on the table?
