Sunday’s surfing competition is one that surfer Mick Fanning will never forget and is was not for a good reason.
While preparing for his run in the Finals of the World Surf League’s J-Bay Open in South Africa, Fanning was suddenly attacked by a shark.
“I was just sitting there and I felt something just get stuck in my leg rope, and I was kicking trying to get it away,” Fanning said in the video.
“I just saw fins. I was waiting for the teeth to come at me. I punched it in the back.”
Luckily Fanning was able to escape the attack without injury, but it was quite a scare.
