Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman has made another move with just days to go before his team’s season opener on January 14.
The Red Wings have claimed defenseman Christian Djoos, recently waived by the Anaheim Ducks, off the waiver wire:

Djoos was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 2012 NHL Draft, with whom he became the first defenseman in their franchise history to record two assists in his NHL debut. He was also a member of Washington’s 2018 Stanley Cup winning team. At last year’s Trade Deadline, he was dealt to the Ducks.
Playing mostly with the AHL’s Hershey Bears last season, Djoos registered 32 points in 42 games played.
