Fan runs onto field during play in Mariners vs. Cardinals game [Video]

We have all seen it before. During a stoppage in play or a time out at a sporting event, a gutsy fan who has most likely had one to many juice boxes runs onto the field, gets tackled by security, and is escorted off the field to the applause of those in attendance.

On Saturday night, a fan took things to a whole new level as he thought it would be best to rush the field during the middle of a play in the Mariners vs. Cardinals game. Watch as this fan, decked out in his patriotic gear, runs onto the field right as a fly ball is heading towards Mariners left fielder Seth Smith.

Nice work by Smith to remain focused on the ball and to make the catch as the Mariners ended up beating the Cardinals 5-4.
