We’re a mere nine days away from the Detroit Red Wings officially kicking off their 95th season of NHL play.
We got a good look at the first real action for the team in nearly ten months with the Team Red/White intrasquad scrimmage that took place at Little Caesars Arena earlier today. Team Red Would prevail by a 6-4 final in the shootout.
Mathias Brome (twice), Turner Elson and Danny DeKeyser each tallied for Team White, while Tyler Bertuzzi (twice), Vladislav Namestnikov, Marc Staal, Anthony Mantha, and Dylan Larkin scored for Team Red.
Meanwhile, forward Evgeny Svechnikov left the scrimmage with an apparent arm injury; head coach Jeff Blashill didn’t have any update on his condition following the action.
